Buxton is a spa town in Derbyshire, England. Central to the Peak District National Park, Buxton is home to Poole's Cavern, an extensive limestone cavern open to the public, and St Ann's Well, fed by the geothermal spring.
Also in the town is the Thermal Baths, Museum, Pavilion Gardens and Buxton Opera House, which hosts several music and theatre festivals each year. There is a pedestrian shopping mall with a large selection of bars and restaurants. Around the surrounding area of Buxton you will find the Blue John Caverns, the Goyt Valley and Chatsworth House.
The Buxton Festival is held during the holiday months of June to August where there is always a packed program of music and theatre. During the year there are also the famous "Well Dressings" which always fill the town with amazing colour.
