During the summer months Buxton hosts several world class arts festivals attracting people from all over Britain and further afield. The apartment is in a central location in Buxton and would be an ideal place to stay.
Every year in July the Buxton Festival has an exciting programme of literary events, concerts and recitals as well as opera which are held mainly at the Buxton Opera House. Please see the website for dates for this year and to find out when tickets go on sale.
Another arts festival held in Buxton is the Buxton Festival Fringe which is similar to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival but on a smaller scale. The festival features films, drama, dance, music and other cultural events held at several different venues in Buxton and includes the Buxton Military Tattoo.
The International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival is also held at Buxton Opera House for three weeks during the months of July and August.
Also held in the summer in and around Buxton are the famous Well Dressings. This is an ancient tradition offering thanks for the gift of clean and plentiful water.
